  • Puppy Obedience + Socialization Class
    (5 week course)
  • This class is designed to establish the communication between owners and their new puppies. Though we all want our dogs to be the best and most wel- behaved dogs, this course is for puppies to not only learn the basics but also get a chance to be puppies in a controlled and safe environment. Puppihood is such an important developmental period of a dog’s life, and understanding why a puppy may choose to do something different than even just the previous week is helpful for overwhelmed first-time pet parents.

    Skills like name association, sit down and stand, go to “__”, leave it, and recall will be taught at each puppy’s level increasing difficulty as they continue to grow and going back to basics when needed. As they grow, they also learn some light fitness and agility to make things fun and enriching.

  • Adolescent + Senior Obedience Class
    (5 week course)
  • This class is designed to bridge the communication disconnect between owners and their dogs. Training dogs basic manners and social etiquette while their owners get an understanding of the how and why of canine behavior. Skills like leave it, wait vs. stay, settle, and emergency recall will be taught at the dog’s individual level through direct instruction and fun enrichment games to ensure both client and dog are learning in an effective and fun way.

    As the dogs advance we will work on transferring the basic skills to more real-world situations. Working through the “4 D’s of Training” - Distance, Duration, Distraction, and Difficulty, to ensure they can be well-mannered no matter where they are.

  • This class is designed to exercise your dog in a way that is both extremely fun and enriching for their mind. Starting with the basics of going over and through obstacles, to handling skills, and putting together a course - your dog will learn not only how to " do” agility but also how to be confident and under control in stressful environments.

  • Canine Fitness Class
    (5 week course)
  • This class is designed to build your dog’s confidence and core in a low-impact, high energy, fun way. Much like pilates or yoga does for us, canine fitness starts with the basics like soft stretches and side steps to more complex exercises like mirror pivoting and full body balancing. Canine fitness is a great way for dogs of all ages to have more control over their spatial awareness as well as work on their focus.

We truly cannot say enough nice things about Natalie our dog trainer from Throw Me A Bone. From our initial consultation I knew we were in the best hands. As a new dog owner I was very nervous about training even though I knew my dog Brinkley needed it. She made me feel actually excited about the training and what might be possible for Brinkley to learn. From the first time she came over she was encouraging and didn’t make us feel insecure about things we knew Brinkley needed help with. The notes and tips on training we received after every class were SO thorough and beyond helpful. We knew exactly what we needed to work on to help him improve and again felt excited to show Natalie his progress after his homework weeks. Truly could not find enough nice things to say about the experience. We’ll soon be exploring day care for Brinkley and because of our experience with Natalie there’s no question of where we will go!!

My dog has had an amazing time at Throw Me A Bone at 525 W 52nd Street. He pulls me to their door front every day, regardless of whether it’s a day care day or not. He loves the staff and has the best time with them - he comes home so thoroughly wiped out. We only used Throw Me a Bone so far for private training sessions with Jesse.  Jesse has been absolutely great, and helped my young puppy (18 weeks old) with some basic training, which has already helped tremendously.  Planning to attend group puppy classes and, possibly, grooming in the near future.

My dogs love TMAB. Every time I say “let’s go to daycare” they get so happy that I can tell for sure they have a good time there. They already did daycare, boarding, grooming and training sessions and I don’t have nothing to complain. I love the fact we have access to the camera and receive multiple pictures during their stay. I have tried other dog daycares but TMAB definitely got my heart.
